Olivier Messiaen: Et exspecto resurrectionem mortuorum
für Bläser und Orchester
Following his guest performance with the London Symphony Orchestra two years ago, Sir Simon Rattle will now give his début appearance in the Music Viva series at the helm of the BRSO and the Bavarian Radio Chorus. Together with Magdalena he will conduct the première of Ondřej Adámek’s song cycle. The songs are inspired by many different things including, Aramaic text, specific verses from The Bible, Moravian folksong, a traditional Sevillian Easter chant and the Hindu scripture Bhagavad Gita.
The lyrics and the comment on the cycle are available here (in German).
