Together for Humanity
As the crisis between Israel and Gaza intensifies and the risk of broader regional violence looms ever larger, the call for peace and humanity resounds with unprecedented urgency. On September 21st, an exceptional concert will take place, bringing together voices from around the world to demand the protection of all Palestinian and Israeli civilians, as well as the immediate release of hostages from 23 nations, abducted from Israel on October 7th, 2023, by Hamas. The call extends to unyielding diplomatic efforts to end the violence, foster peaceful and harmonious coexistence, and intensify the essential humanitarian aid needed by all those who have been deeply affected by the devastating consequences of this deadly conflict.
Titled Together for Humanity, this event is a powerful testament, a plea from the heart to end suffering and reaffirm our collective commitment to peace. The concert aligns with the International Day of Peace, also observed on September 21st. This year, the date carries special significance as it marks the 25th anniversary of the United Nations General Assembly's adoption of the Declaration and Programme of Action on a Culture of Peace, adding profound symbolic weight to this initiative.
At the initiative of pianists Martha Argerich and Iddo Bar-Shai, alongside singer and peace activist Noa, and in collaboration with La Cité Bleue Genève, internationally renowned musicians—including both Israeli and Palestinian artists—will join forces in a moving expression of solidarity and hope. Together for Humanity seeks to amplify the call for peace, reminding us that true peace begins with the recognition of our shared humanity.
