Knights of Talent / Benefit concert for the Magdalena Kožená Foundation
This year's edition of the ZUŠ Open festival, which is one of the major activities of the Magdalena Foundation, will kick off with a gala benefit concert by Magdalena Kožená and primary art schools called Knights of Talent, which will be broadcast live on Czech Television. Under the baton of conductor Jan Kučera, compositions by Antonín Dvořák and Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy and others will be performed.
The concert will feature over 250 selected performers from the pupils from the primary art schools, the best orchestral players, selected choirs, who are among the top representatives of the youngest artistic generation, together with pupils who have to overcome many obstacles on their way to quality artistic education. Their performances will also be supported by the teachers of the art schools, who themselves are active professional artists. An exceptional contribution to the dramaturgy will be the stage renditions of selected pieces under the direction of choreographer Hana Achilles. The programme will be accompanied by the General Director of the Czech Philharmonic David Mareček.
Proceeds from the fundraiser held during the concert will be used to benefit the activities of the Magdalena Kožená Foundation aimed at supporting the artistic education of children and young people with health or socio-economic disadvantages.
