Magdalena prepared this exceptional benefit concert together with Brno - city of music UNESCO and the ZUŠ Open festival. The song recital will take place on Monday, 13 December at 7 p.m. in Brno's Besední dům and will also be available as a live video broadcast. The purpose of the evening is to support and raise the profile of the unique Czech system of Primary Art Schools (ZUŠ).
Magdalena will be accompanied by the excellent pianist Ohad Ben-Ari; together they will perform songs by Bohuslav Martinů, Antonín Dvořák, Johannes Brahms and Modest Petrovich Mussorgsky. The symbolic overture of the evening dedicated to the support of local ZUŠ schools will be the performance of 12-year-old talented pianist Nora Lubbadová, a pupil of ZUŠ Olešská and a graduate of the MenART Academy. This scholarship programme is one of the main projects of the Kožená Foundation, together with the successful national festival ZUŠ Open.
The concert is held with the support of the Statutory City of Brno and under the auspices of its Mayor Markéta Vaňková. Brno, which since 2017 can enjoy membership in the prestigious UNESCO Network of Creative Cities in the field of music, has long and successfully been dedicated to supporting music education for children; this direction is perfectly combined at the benefit concert with the efforts of Brno native Magdalena and her fund, whose headquarters are also located in Brno.
The entire gala evening will be broadcast live on the following Facebook profiles:
