Magdalena said goodbye to last year as Mozart's Idamante, and she will step into this year as Sesto in a semi-staged production of the opera La clemenza di Tito, which will be directed for Salzburg Mozart Week by its artistic director Rolando Villazón. In February she will once again become Handel's Alcina: at La Scala in Milan, together with Mark Minkowski's Les Musiciens du Louvre, they will launch a new recording on the Pentatone label. In March, Magdalena will be welcomed to north-western France; in Anger, Nantes and La Roche-sur-Yon she will sing Gustav Mahler's Rückert songs accompanied by the Orchestre National des Pays de la Loire. In the UK in April she will perform and record songs by Debussy and Messiaen with pianist Mitsuko Uchida. In May, she will personally participate in the ZUŠ Open Festival, the main activity of her foundation, which is dedicated to supporting arts education. At the beginning of June, Magdalena will perform for German and Norwegian audiences together with the Basel Baroque Orchestra La Cetra. For two subscription concerts (at the Berlin State Opera House Under the Lime Trees and the Berlin Philharmonic Hall), she will perform Kurt Weill's Seven Deadly Sins with the Staatskapelle Berlin, followed by Mahler and Bartók songs accompanied by the Chamber Orchestra of Europe in Esterháza, Lugano and Evian. On 10 July she will return to her native Brno - at the Besední dům she will perform with pianist Kirill Gerstein at the closing concert of the IMF Concentus Moraviae, of which she is a patron.
Details of all planned concerts can be found in the calendar. You can also find the latest events and hot news on Magdalena's instagram profile.
